First Day in Rome
This time difference is insane! We landed in Rome at 8:30am time here but in reality we should have already been in bed in the states. The flights were not too bad, I had 2 seats to myself, so you know what that meant, NAP TIME :D the movie selection was pretty wicked aswell I got to watch Noah, Lowkey I regretted not taking Jesse up on his offer to bring his Ipad with me since it was such a hassle to be taking out my laptop. We got picked up at the airport with a guy holding Melvy’s name on a little paper. People drive so crazy here! No seat belts, red lights basically mean nothing to them, and they dont plan on stopping or hitting the breaks until they are basically about to crash! We get to the BB in Trastevere, first we were at the wrong hotel! and then…bam! we find our hotel. We ring the buzzer to get in and let me just say, it was pretty darn sketch! It is basically an apartment complex, and one apartment was transformed into a hotel! The elevator was tiny AF basically made for one person! We get to the door, and there stands a man in sandals and shorts ready to check us in, he shows us to our rooms, interesting enough the room is adorable! two tiny little beds! but there is Wifi! which is fantastic! The plan once we arrived was to not sleep and go explore, but that did not happen…we arrived and knocked the fuck out from 11am to 7pm! and now it is 3am in Rome and I can not sleep to save my life! First night in Roma was a success, we left the hotel by 8pm to meet up with some of our fellow woodburians! There is this awesome thing right above the river by Puente Costi that underneath the bridge along the river its like a mini might market with little stands of so many things! Candy, wine, and restaurants, even hookah bars! it sure was a beautiful sight to see. We stopped at this place called Birra Mattori or something like that and I had this amazing pizza, i usually dont eat much, but tonight I not only ate my personal pizza but I ate Melvy and G’s leftovers aswell, along with a Birra Mattori Rossa, which was similar to a chimay. Of course we stopped by a place to buy candy! yum! And then explored a little more. Apparently where we are staying is kind of the sketchy area in rome, so we had the boys walk us back to our hotel, im sure they were even a little thrown off at how empty the streets were. But hey, the first night in Rome was pretty beautiful! <3 Can’t wait to see what Rome has to offer tomorrow! Buona Notte!
